Have your say on the future of our buses

Buses connect us to jobs, education, healthcare, family and friends. Now, people across the North East are being asked for their views on the proposed Bus Franchising Scheme that could change how local bus services are planned and delivered in the future.

The proposals could lead to simpler fares, more reliable services, better connections and a stronger voice for local people.

The consultation also looks at the responsibilities and risks involved in bringing buses under public control.

Whatever your view, the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority wants to hear it. There is a survey and they are also holding consultation events throughout the region.

The consultation closes at 9.00am on 28 September 2026.
