The document below is a record of the comments received about the Statement of Priorities and Local Habitat Map as part of the final phase of Durham's LNRS consultation which took place in December 2025.

The comments have been edited to remove any personal or site location information, or to assist with clarity. Alongside each response is a brief comment outlining the responsible authority’s (Durham County Council) reply.

How were the comments considered?

The consultation responses were discussed at meetings held between Durham County Council, Natural England and the Environmental Records Information Centre North East.

Local Nature Recovery Strategy agreement and publication

The results informed the final version of the Strategy which has now been agreed by our Cabinet at its meeting in March 2026.
