Durham City Strategic Place Plan

During September to November 2024, we invited everyone who lives, works, studies, or visits Durham City to share their views on its strengths, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

We collated your feedback to give us a good idea of what was important to you for the future of Durham City. since then we have worked with partners to use that information alongside other data to develop a vision for the city.

Our Cabinet approved the vision on 15 January 2025 and and work is underway with partners to develop a spatial plan showing land use and development, economic gaps, and action plans tailored to Durham City's needs recognising its cultural heritage.
